The new release fixes occasional 1/2 blue frame chroma swap

Just now, Atomos has rolled out firmware version 6.02 developed for its Shogun 4K recorder, which implements a user feature request (WFM) that automatically minimizes from full screen, as well as from bottom 3rd to mini, in order to allow the owner to monitor the display.

In addition to that, this fresh update also resolves an occasional issue that caused 1/2 blue frame chroma swap to be encountered when using Sony A7 or Panasonic Lumix GH4 devices to record 4K 30p videos.

Moreover, Atomos announces that it will implement additional features, such as Playback (approximately at the end of January), Avid DNxHD (somewhere in mid-February), and 3D LUT's (probably in March).

Furthermore, also in March, the producer intends to add Cinema DNG, as well as RAW support. However, this addition will only be possible if Atomos successfully includes compatibility for playback and DNxHD as planned.

When it comes to known issues, the producer has found a RED & C500 SDI 1080p50/60 bug, and probably missed fixing the rolling timecode trigger that wouldn’t work at 1080p50/60.

As for problems that aren’t related to Atomos, you should know that Transcend media will only work if connected when the recorder is on, OCZ media aren’t recommended to be used, and BMD 6G-SDI products are not compatible in UHD4Kp60.

That being said, download Atomos Shogun Recorder Firmware 6.02, carefully apply it on your device, and constantly check our website in order to be aware when a newer version is available.
