Amazon has just unveiled the latest firmware package developed for its Kindle Paperwhite e-Reader, namely version 5.3.8, which promises to bring feature enhancements and stability improvements.

With this version, when you search for something in a book, the search items will be highlighted within the results, and if you tap one to go to its related location, the search terms will appear highlighted on that page.

Moreover, if you look up a word in the dictionary, you will be able to search it in other dictionaries on your device directly from the definition window. In addition to that, if the word has multiple meanings, you can also navigate through each of the definitions from the same window.

As for installing the firmware, first go to Home → Menu → Settings → Menu → Device Info. in order to view your current version, and if it matches the 5.3.8 one, then no further action is needed.

Otherwise, connect the Paperwhite to the computer, copy the downloadable file onto the root folder of the Kindle’s drive, remove the USB cable from the e-Reader, go to Home → Menu → Settings → Menu → Update Your Kindle, and tap “Ok” to confirm the selection.

At this point, the upgrade process starts, and all you need to do is wait for the installation to complete – when it does, the Kindle will automatically restart for the changes to take effect.

Now that you have taken into account all the important aspects, follow the link below, download the firmware package, and update your Kindle to enjoy the new features on your own device.
