14 DAY TRIAL // Amazon has just announced the availability of new firmware packages developed for some of its Fire and Kindle Fire tablets, namely build 4.5.1, which include general improvements and performance enhancements, as highlighted in the changelog.
In order to be more specific, Amazon has rolled out firmware version 11.4.5.1, 13.4.5.1, and 14.4.5.1, compatible with its Kindle Fire HD 2nd Generation, HDX, and HDX 8.9" devices, respectively.
Moreover, software update 22.4.5.1 for Fire HDX 8.9, as well as firmware 20.4.5.1 targeted at Fire HD 6 and HD 7 tablets, is also available for download.
Therefore, if you own one of these products and take into account an upgrade, first of all go to Settings > Device > System Updates, and make sure the currently installed version isn’t either newer or matching the present release.
If all is ok, save the appropriate file for your device, connect it to the computer using a USB cable, and copy the .bin file to the tablet’s root folder.
