ASUS has outed another firmware package targeted at its FonePad Note 6, namely version 10.16.1.28, which includes several fixes and improvements that raise the device’s overall performance and functionality.

Specifically speaking, the new firmware improves system stability, Instant Note performance, IME candidate selection scrolling, and modem stability, adds a new booting system animation, and modifies some Italian text strings in phone, settings, AudioWizard, and parental lock.

In addition to that, this version fixes the Gmail contacts synchronization problem, the unexpected message crash, and camera sound effect issue. Moreover, the camera’s improper photo viewing when images are saved in SD card is also resolved.

As for applying this new release, you should know that each of the firmware’s download records is compatible with a specific SKU only, and the update process isn’t capable of switching between SKUs, or install an earlier version.

Therefore, go to Settings → About Tablet → Build Number, and from there, read your tablet’s currently installed SKU: if the build number is “WW_fonepad-10.X.X.X._2013xxxx,” then the SKU will be “WW.”

That being said, download Firmware 10.16.1.28 for ASUS FonePad Note 6 that best describes your SKU, update the mobile tablet’s firmware version, and enjoy the new changes made by this release.
