ASUS has made available a new firmware package targeted at its RT-AC56R and RT-AC56U routers, namely version 3.0.0.4.374.339, which includes a huge number of fixes and changes that improve the devices’ overall performance.

Specifically speaking, the new update adds OpenVPN server, roaming assistant, and private WAN IP checking, improves FAT32 read/write speed, and 2.4GHz wireless throughput, and changes roaming assistance algorithm for better experience.

In addition to that, ASUS’ release fixes ASMedia USB 3.0 controller compatibility problems, 2.4GHz power saving algorithm, and IPv6, BitTorrent, WPS push button, and PPTP VPN client related issues.
