ASUS has just made available a new firmware build targeted at its RT-N66 routers (R, W, and U models), namely version 3.0.0.4.376.1071, which includes fresh network map features, security-related updates, and various bug fixes.

Specifically speaking, this newly released package updates OpenSSL library from 1.0.0d to 1.0.0m, resolves traffic monitor display problems, and improves 3G and 4G compatibility with certain Huawei dongles in order to reduce problems.

In addition to that, various IPv6 and VDSL modem compatibility issues are fixed, the daylight saving time can now be adjusted manually, the client icon can be modified, and the secondary wan setting when in dual wan failover mode doesn’t encounter any issues whatsoever.

If you intend to apply this version, you should know that the system status is now able to show CPU and RAM usage properly, and the client status has the ability to display wireless users signal strength.

Moreover, parental control, QoS, manually assigned IP, static route, and port forwarding client list can still refer to the client name even if it is manually changed.

As for upgrading to this release, bear in mind that failing to perform a successful upgrade can cause serious device malfunctions, therefore make sure to initiate this process only after you have completely familiarized yourself with the steps.

That being said, download ASUS RT-N66 Router Firmware 3.0.0.4.376.1071, apply it on your device, and enjoy your newly improved wireless router.
