The firmware update process isn’t capable of switching between stock-keeping unit versions

ASUS has released a new firmware developed for its Transformer Pad TF300TG mobile tablet, namely version 10.6.2.8, which consists of separate download records, each compatible with a specific SKU.

However, this release doesn’t come along with a changelog whatsoever, so I can only assume that if installed, the firmware might improve the device’s overall performance and stability.

An important aspect that ASUS highlights is that the update process isn’t capable of switching between SKUs (stock-keeping units), therefore, before you consider upgrading, make sure you know your device’s currently installed version.

If you don’t know it, then go to Settings → About Tablet → Build Number, and you should be able to read it there – it consists of the letters before the first underscore line. Just to be safe, if your build number is “WW_epad-10.X.X.X_2012xxxx,” then the SKU will be “WW.”

Now that you have taken into account the important aspects, follow the link below, download the SKU-related firmware from the list, and update the tablet to discover the changes that have been made.
