The firmware update process isn’t capable of switching between stock-keeping units

ASUS has outed a new firmware package for its Transformer Pad TF300TG device, namely the 10.6.2.6 version, but didn’t make available an official change log for it.

Therefore, I can only assume that the newly released firmware improves the overall performance and stability of the device and the Android Jelly Bean OS.

The release consists of separate download records, each for a specific SKU (stock-keeping unit), so make sure that you apply the correct one. Installing a wrong one, or an earlier version may not be supported, and might lead to an update failure and, therefore, device malfunction.

Moreover, the update process isn’t capable of switching between the stock-keeping unit versions.

Now, in order to find out what SKU you need, go to Settings → About Tablet → Build number, and from there you should be able to read it – specifically speaking, it consists of the letters before the first underscore line.

That being said, follow the link below, and from the list, choose the one that best describes your SKU version.
