The new update re-enables NAT loopback fix on MIPS iptables

Well known for its custom software development, AsusWrt-Merlin has rolled out a new firmware package compatible with some of ASUS’ wireless routers, namely version 378.50 Beta 2, which fixes various issues with QoS rules, IPv6, vsftpd, and more.

To be clearer, this second beta release resolves the vsftpd that sometimes wouldn’t start, as well as the QoS rules (Quality of Service) that weren’t applied properly. Both of these issues have been spotted when IPv6 was enabled.

In addition to that, AsusWrt-Merlin has managed to add custom config and postconf support for iTunes servers (avahi, netatalk, and mt-daapd), re-enable NAT loopback fix on MIPS iptables, and resolve incompatibility of AC56U non-DPI build with some Tuxera modules.

If version 378.50 beta 2 is applied, your router will be able to properly display all wireless clients even if they haven’t been communicating lately (pinwing patch), as well as to apply a custom DDNS regardless if you have something entered in the authentication fields.

Last but not least, this new update also resolves the NFS page’s improper loading, and tries to see if the AC68U CFE update process works better by moving it to the same location as in GPL 3626.

Therefore, if you want to enjoy these new changes, save the appropriate archive for your specific router model, and apply it like any other firmware for ASUS’s official website. However, bear in mind that this update is still a beta release, and might or might not be as stable as expected.

That being said, download AsusWrt-Merlin Firmware 3.0.0.4.378.50 Beta 2 for the wireless router(s) you own, install it, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute a go.”
