ASUS has provided its RT-N12HP and RT-N12HP rev.B1 router owners with a new firmware update, namely version 3.0.0.4.376.4018, which adds DDNS support method and tutorials on web interface and fixes timezone setting issues.

In addition to that, this present release also resolves the CVE-2013-1813 common vulnerability and exposure, and the XSS vulnerability on page Main_Analysis_Content.asp, updates QIS strings, adds Movistar profile in IPTV setting page.

When it comes to installing this update, simply save and extract the appropriate downloadable archive for your device model, and connect your router to the computer via an Ethernet cable. Using wireless connection isn’t recommended as this technology tends to disconnect randomly and can cause problems.

If all is ok, log into the router’s administration page (username and password might be required), go to its firmware update section, browse and select the .trx file from the newly created folder, and initiate the upgrade.

Bear in mind that, upon completion, ASUS’ router will reboot automatically (first boot might take longer than expected). Also, even though this process is as easy as it seems, make sure you don’t remove power/Ethernet cable or reboot neither of the devices unless the firmware has been applied.

Thus, download ASUS RT-N12HP Router Firmware 3.0.0.4.376.4018 or download ASUS RT-N12HP rev.B1 Router Firmware 3.0.0.4.376.4018, apply it on your device, and enjoy the changes that this new release brings about.
