ASUS has just made available a new firmware developed for its RT-AC68U and RT-AC68R routers, namely version 3.0.0.4.374.339, which includes a huge number of fixes and new features that improve the devices’ overall performance.

Specifically speaking, this newly released update adds features such as Apple time machine, OpenVPN server, roaming assistant, and 2.4GHz beamforming, and includes support for both NTFS and HFS+ HDD formats.

In addition to that, the FAT32 read/write speed has been increased, the roaming assistance algorithm has been modified for a richer experience, and the PPTP VPN client, IPv6, and BitTorrent-related problems have been resolved.

Moreover, this firmware enhances the ASMedia USB 3.0 controller compatibility, adjusts the 2.4GHz power saving, applies a memory leak patch, and fixes the WPS push button issue.

Last but not least, version 3.0.0.4.374.339 also improves the samba and 2.4GHz wireless throughput, and fixes related issues with the quick Internet setup UI and HTTPD security.
