ASUS has rolled out a new firmware update suitable for its RT-AC68U wireless routers, namely version 3.0.0.4.378.3762, which upgrades OpenSSL library to 1.0.0.o, removes FTP link in Network map, and includes several other changes.

If build 378.3762 is applied, ASUS’ router will be compatible with Huawei E161, E3131, and E171, ZTE MF880, MF823, and MF821D, as well as Royaltek Q110 3G/LTE modems. Also CSRF, VPN server, IPv6, and IGMP-related issues will be resolved.

In addition to that, this new release includes support for AiProtection and Adaptive QoS, and because of that, you must press the reset button for more than five seconds in order to avoid any compatibility issues.

Moreover, the download master can now be uninstalled in FAT16 and FAT32 format, no problems will be encountered when enabling repeater mode or AP mode in QIS, Firefox compatibility gets improved, and media server-related issues are now history.

Last but not least, ASUS’ present update also fixes various problems with dual wan failover mode, static IP in AP mode, Wake on LAN UI, and IGMP.

Therefore, if you consider applying this version, save and extract the downloadable archive, establish a wired connection between the router and the computer (wireless technology is not that stable), and log into your router’s administration page.

Now, go to the Firmware Upgrade section, choose to update manually, select the unzipped .trx file, and allow the device to do its job. Bear in mind that you mustn’t reboot your computer/router or disconnect the Ethernet cable.

With this in mind, download ASUS RT-AC68U Router Firmware 3.0.0.4.378.3762, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and upgrade your wireless device to the latest version.
