The release adds AiProtection and Adaptive QoS support

ASUS has developed and rolled a new firmware update targeted at its RT-AC68 router models, namely version 3.0.0.4.378.3813, which upgrades Openssl library to 1.0.0.o, removes FTP link in Network map, fixes CSRF issue, and many more.

This new release adds support for some 3G/LTE USB modems, such as Huawei E161, E3131, and E171, ZTE MF880, MF823, and MF821D, as well as Royaltek Q110 devices, and resolves various issues regarding VPN server, IPv6 , and static IP setting in AP mode.

In addition to that, ASUS’s firmware includes compatibility for Adaptive QoS that allows prioritizing numerous applications and tasks, and for AiProtection which improves once more the overall network security level.

Moreover, problems with dual wan failover mode, Wake on LAN, IGMP, media server, and various Firefox compatibility issues have also been fixed.

When it comes to installing this update, first save and extract the appropriate archive for your specific router model, log into your device’s administration page, and go to the Firmware Upgrade section.

From there, select to update your router manually, select the newly unzipped .trx file, click “Upload,” and allow the device to do its job.
