ASUS has just released version 10.2.1.9 of their PadFone firmware. This update comes for two SKUs, WW and CHT.

The main improvement is the Android version update to 4.1.1 which comes with a bunch of new features.

The dictionary function has been enhanced, as well as the camera preview function and the scrapbook feature.

File Manager has seen improvements as well and the Volume Key issue has been attended.

SD Cards with NTFS and EX Fat format are now supported.

To update, check your SKU and download the correct firmware according to the SKU. Trying to install a wrong version may cause a failed installation procedure and possibly harm the device.

You will find the SKU in the build number. Under the “Settings” menu, go to “About PadFone” and look at the first letters of the build number. It should look like “CHT_PadFone-9.X.X.X” or “WW_PadFone-9.X.X.X”.

Now download the right firmware, install it and stay “updated one minute ago.”
