14 DAY TRIAL // Today, ASRock has made available new BIOS versions targeted at several of its motherboard devices, which include various changes that should increase the units’ overall stability and usability.
Specifically speaking, the producer has rolled out BIOS 1.30, 1.90, 2.20, 2.30, and 2.60 developed for its B85M-DGS, H81 Pro BTC, B85M Pro4, H87M Pro4, and Z87M Pro4 boards, respectively.
In addition to that, ASRock has also provided BIOS 1.70 for Fatal1ty H97 Performance and B85M Pro4/ASM owners, as well as version 1.80 suitable for Z97 Pro4 and H87M Pro4/ASM devices.
When it comes to changes, the new updates targeted at all aforementioned motherboards will only add some adjustments that apply for the devices’ sleep function.
Separate from these devices, ASRock has also managed to upgrade its Fatal1ty X99 Professional and X99 OC Formula BIOS to build 1.50 and 1.70, respectively, versions which include DRAM compatibility and Russian language improvements, as well as NVME support.
As for installing these new BIOS packages, you should know that you can choose between 3 different update methods.
First of all, while the Instant Flash procedure can apply a newer version through BIOS’s Setup Menu, the DOS file is able to do the same thing from a DOS command prompt. However, bear in mind that both packages must be run from a removable storage.
If these methods aren’t preferred, the Windows archive can be used to flash a newer BIOS version simply by running the downloadable file directly from your computer. Still, don’t forget that a BIOS upgrade is very risky, so make sure to perform it only when necessary.
