The newly released package lets the system run Battlefield 4 with 4 simultaneous GPUs

A few moments ago, AMD outed its latest Catalyst graphics driver, namely version 14.2 beta 1.3, which is compatible with both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems.

This fresh update improves performance and updates Crossfire profiles for single-GPU configurations running the Thief game, allows the system to run Battlefield 4 using up to 4 simultaneous GPUs through the latest Mantle technology, and resolves several X-plane corruption issues.

In addition to that, AMD’s latest Catalyst also fixes Minecraft missing textures problem, resolves several dual-graphics DirectX 9 application bugs, and improves the 3D apps so that they don’t see frequent hangs or crashes anymore.

There are some remaining issues however, namely the compatibility problem with AMD Enduro- or PowerXpress-based notebooks that don’t support the Mantle codepath, and the Thief-related issue where the game would not render the right eye when CrossFire and Stereo 3D are enabled.

Moreover, bear in mind that AMD’s release is still a beta driver and it’s provided “AS IS,” therefore the producer cannot be held responsible for any related damage that its 14.2 Beta Catalyst might do to your system – in other words, the installation is at your own risk.

As for the compatible card, this latest version is suitable for its Radeon HD and R series, accelerated processors units (APUs), both desktop- and notebook-related devices.

That being said, go ahead and download AMD Catalyst Graphics Driver 14.2 Beta 1.3, apply it to your system, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
