Today is a happy day for gamers as AMD launches its first beta build for the 14.3 version of Catalyst, which brings Mantle and TrueAudio Support for Thief, Crossfire improvements and faster loading times.

If you own an AMD graphics card that supports AMD’s Mantle or True Audio Technology, then this update is definitely for you, as it offers support for the new Thief game developed by Eidos. It also improves stuttering of frames on Crossfire systems.

In addition to that, the new Catalyst also offers faster level loading times for the shooter Call of Duty Ghosts on Quad Crossfire systems. The First Person Shooter Battlefield 4 hasn't been forgotten either, and also receives Crossfire improvements such as the V-Sync that now works when AMD Mantle is enabled.

Although they have done a great job with this release, there are still some unresolved issues but AMD assures us that most of them will be dealt with in the next beta release.

AMD launched this beta update “AS IS”: this means that, although it may improve your overall gaming experience, it might also make it worse. As Beta updates are not usually very stable, you should install it at your own risk.

The beta version is designed to support Windows and offers compatibility for both 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 operating systems.

That being said, if you consider upgrading to this beta version, download AMD Catalyst Mantle Graphics Driver 14.3 Beta v1.0 for either desktop or notebooks, apply it, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
