ACMELL has just rolled out a new firmware package targeted at the SD28W action camera, namely version 20141011v22, which resolves an issue regarding the no-frame adjustment when setting the camera in HDMI switching mode.

If your camera has been experiencing this problem, then take into account upgrading the device’s firmware to the present release.

To do so, first initialize an SD card using the camera, save the downloadable .bin file onto the memory card’s root directory, make sure the SD28W is powered off, and insert the card into the camera’s SD slot.

Now simply connect the device to a continuous power source and turn it on; once on the camera will automatically recognize the new firmware, it will initiate the installation process. Moreover, upon completion, the SD28W will also reboot automatically announcing a successful upgrade.

However, after the action camera has powered back on, it would be best to check the currently installed firmware version in order to make sure the new update has been applied properly.

Bear in mind, that while the installation is in progress, do not disconnect the battery, remove the SD memory card, or use the device’s buttons as this will cause an upgrade failure that might lead to serious device malfunctions or even a bricked camera.

With this in mind, download ACMELL SD28W Action Camera Firmware 20141011v22, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and upgrade your action unit to the latest software version.
