Asuswrt-Merlin, well-known for its firmware development, has announced the availability of a new beta build compatible with the same routers as before, namely version 3.0.0.4.376.48 beta 3, which resolves several ASUS bugs included in the official firmware.

Specifically speaking, this release updates MiniUPnPd to release 1.9 and includes its upstream PCP fix. Also, the issue where share bug permissions for Samba couldn’t be modified when unmounted or hidden partitions were present on your disk has been resolved as well.

Moreover, ASUS bugs, such as Samba share permissions for RT-N66U’s internal SD card reader, and the missing Max User field on Samba page, have also been fixed.

When it comes to installing this update, simply save the downloadable archive, and perform the upgrade process using the .trx file from within the zip package. Also, know that the steps are identical with the ones used for applying any official firmware from ASUS.

In addition to that, don’t forget to write down all settings to make sure no important info will be lost in the process, and do not load any saved copy of your configuration unless your router was running AsusWrt-Merlin Router Firmware 3.0.0.4.376.48 Beta 2 or similar.

As for the compatible devices, just make sure you use the present release only on ASUS’ RT-AC87, RT-AC56, RT-AC66, RT-AC68, RT-N16, and RT-N66 wireless routers (all models).

Therefore, download AsusWrt-Merlin Router Firmware 3.0.0.4.376.48 Beta 3 for the proper device model, and apply it in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
